Join one of Australia's leading master production potters, Malcolm Greenwood, as he generously hands down the techniques learned from Japanese mentor Makoto Yabe and follow the journey of paving his own way to making a living entirely from selling his work.

This immersion course is for anyone with a serious commitment to making a living from ceramics.  It will change your practice forever.

Over four full days of both demonstration and hands on practice, you will learn:

- Production throwing & trimming for efficiency and consistency
- Japanese method of throwing with minimal water and off the hump
- How to make your own tools (wooden ribs, trimming tools, tonbos, etc.)
- Slab rolling without a slab roller
- Press moulding
- Spiral wedging
- Plus in-depth discussions on developing efficiency, flow & tempo of your studio, glazing and how to make a living from your work

    The program includes:

    - Five days of tuition (approx 9am - 5pm)

    - 'Dinner in Conversation' event with presentation and local guest chefs

    - Welcome kit

    - Materials for making your own tools

    - Clay for throwing practice

    - Morning & afternoon refreshments

This is an advanced learning experience. For participants to get the most out of the investment, a minimum of 2 years of ceramic experience and a reasonable level of throwing competency is required.
