ECO PACKAGING
We love the earth, so reusing packing materials where possible is top priority. Maybe its not the prettiest parcel to receive, its a bit gritty, but its backed with integrity and our strong eco-conscious ethos to respect the planet, even in the small details. It also helps keep our shipping and handling costs reasonable as we don't like the idea of having to pass the cost of a box (that will probably be thrown away) onto the customer. You're welcome. You will receive order confirmation and purchase receipt via email and we do not print packing lists, because we want to save the trees. Every small choice counts and adds up if we all do our part.
gritCERAMICS is not liable for any lost or stolen packages once the item has been transferred to the shipping carrier. We are not responsible for any additional shipping charges that may incur if the package is returned due to customer absence, error in shipping address or package refusal.
All packages are dispatched with a mandatory “signature on delivery” note to the courier service. You must be present at the address you provide at checkout to receive the item.

Each handcrafted piece is inspected by hand for flaws before leaving the studio. Please note, all products are handmade and slight variations in clay or glaze colour, texture, finish and size are to be expected and are not considered flaws. Why else would you choose to buy handmade? Above all, you are guaranteed to receive a unique piece that has been made with two hands and a whole lot of love.

International shipping is available to select countries – please contact us to get an individual quote before purchasing.Import duties and taxes are not included in the shipping quote and are often charged on the receiving end by your country's customs department.

CUSTOM DESIGN AND BRAND COLLABORATION
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do here at gritCERAMICS.
Check out the brands and chefs/restaurants we have co-created with in the past here.
We contract a very limited number of custom commissions each year in order to give each project the attention it deserves. Get in touch early – bespoke design is an intricate and often lengthy process requiring months of planning for proper execution.
We don't really like the stress of super tight timelines – lots can go wrong in the world of ceramics, and believe me when we say, it usually does. Respect, flexibility and perseverance are virtues we celebrate and we choose to align ourselves with brands that feel the same. Please plan accordingly if you need your work by a specific date.
A 50% deposit is required in order to commence your project and payment in full, prior to final delivery. Pickup is available, delivery to your establishment will incur an additional fee. If you are local, we can hand deliver - otherwise, we generally use Sendle Couriers and all transport costs will be invoiced with the final amount.
If you have a project in mind, get in touch info@gritceramics.com and we can start the conversation.
PRODUCT CARE
Handmade ceramics in general require a bit of extra care to ensure the longevity of the piece. That said, all of our designs are durability tested in commercial dishwashers, so they will survive in both the hospitality environment and the modern home. Personally, we still handwash and dry, because it feels good to mindfully care for the piece. If you are using gritCERAMICS designs in a commercial hospitality setting, it is essential that you educate your staff on your investment. Damage is most often due to carelessness or the pressures of the fast paced kitchen environment.
Thermal shock is a thing. If you take your gritCERAMICS piece from a very hot to a very cold environment, or vice versa, it will most surely crack and break.
Metal utensils and abrasive chemicals can damage the hand glazed surface. Some cutlery will mark, especially if it is a soft metal, and this is more often the case on matte or satin glazes.
The clay will most likely stain if you soak or store dark food or beverages in them for a length of time – highly acidic foods can also slightly damage the surface finish.
