So I was tucked away far up Bali's west coast in the sleepy, still local surf spot Medewi.
Hours away from the craziness of the tourism mecca of Kuta and surrounds, this place was a little left hand haven boasting some of the longest waves known to Indonesia's coastline.
It was a cheeky little getaway to Volcom team rider Muklis' family run, Medewi Secret Surf Camp. Every morning started the same; sunrise alarms, motorbikes to the beach, a bali coffee, surf checks and the mandatory instagram story.
This one day though, the last day of my trip actually, left me a bit flabbergasted. My inbox was flooded with messages of congratulations and far too many likes to call it a normal day on the 'gram.

The delicious. Produce Awards are designed to celebrate the country’s most outstanding ingredients and regions, inspiring sustainable producers, farmers’ markets, innovators, and regional and emerging chefs.
The panel of judges, made up of the culinary industry's most respected chefs and food industry leaders, chose gritCERAMICS for the 2018 Outstanding Design Award.

I am so humbled to be recognised amongst the greats and awarded such a prestigious title. Chef collaboration is quickly becoming my true passion in the world of earth working and I thrive on the challenge of creating a canvas for the true artists to shine. The plate is nothing without the food that tops it, and it is so wonderful to be part of a team that honours and celebrates the efforts that often go unnoticed behind the scenes of hospitality.
